A deep and vibrant royal violet for creations that catch the eye. Ext. D&C Violet 2 is the secret of artisans to achieve spectacular mauve and violet shades. Ext. D&C Violet 2 is a pure cosmetic grade dye (this is not a lake-type dye). Ultra-concentrated, it allows you to create bath bombs, hair care products, and bath products with rich and brilliant colors, without needing to “bloom” the color (no blooming required).

This dye is more staining to work with than lake pigments. We strongly recommend wearing gloves when handling the pure powder, as it easily stains the skin. Since it is highly concentrated, you will need much less dye to achieve your desired color!

Directions & Recommended Dosages

Bath bombs: Use between 0.2 and 4 grams (1/8 to 2 teaspoons) per 1 kg of your dry mix. Once dissolved, the water color will be a beautiful deep violet. Tip: For your bath bombs, you can still bloom the dye (blooming technique) to obtain even more brilliant colors.
Soaps (Melt and Pour / CP): Use 1g to 7g per 500g of oils. Colors may bleed or fade slightly over time. For liquid soap: always mix the dye in water before adding it to your soap base.
Nail polish: Use a ratio of 5% dye to 95% polish base.
Always test the dye in small quantities with your own products before launching a production.
